Cultural and Language Immersion The language and the culture of the Gitksan people form the heart of the curriculum. We believe that the language helps define ourselves as Gitksan people. As children become fluent in Gitsanimx and as they gain a strong sense of themselves as Gitksan people, they will be able to find their place in the world.

Learning from the land The land, and Gitksan people’s connection and relationship to their House and Clan territories, will serve as the primary source of learning. For thousands of years, the annual calendar of activities for the Gitksan people has been based on the changing round of the seasons and the cycle of birth and growth on the territories. We believe that our children must continue to learn from the land.
